The J.O.Y. Shabbat & Holiday Mitzvah Project

The Family with Young Children Group’s wonderful intergenerational Shabbat and Holiday program helps families welcome Shabbat with the residents of the JCHE’s Golda Meir House. This program’s mission is to foster an understanding of aging and create a positive image for participating children. In addition, it teaches all participants welcoming Shabbat and other holidays about the importance of caring for each other and those in their community.

Generations Together at JCHE

This program aims to maximize the assets, talents and life experiences of tenants with interactions among youth, allowing both generations the opportunity to learn about and appreciate each other, as well as recognize their interdependence and ability to strengthen the community.  It also encourages tenants to become role models of aging well, and enables youth to form positive images of older adults and the aging process.

CJP welcomes the participation of interfaith couples and families, and people of all abilities, backgrounds and sexual orientations.
