Caring for our Community: CJP’s Economic Response

As the economy worsens, CJP’s Economic Response is being put into action to provide for the needs of the most vulnerable.

“One reason that CJP has remained strong is that we have the ability to look far ahead.  No one knows how long or how deep this financial situation will go.  But with careful planning, we can respond quickly and effectively on multiple fronts,” said CJP President Barry Shrage.

Plans include providing increased support to partner agencies impacted by state budget cuts as well as creating a task force to monitor needs and respond effectively to changing conditions.

Record-Breaking Conference for CJP Campus Initiative

More than 100 local students participated in a full-day Israel engagement conference on November 11th at Northeastern University. Designed to inspire veteran and would-be activists with a sampling of Israel's accomplishments and innovations, the conference was organized through CJP's Campus Initiative.

Students learned about Israeli innovations in Green technology, medicine and social justice. In addition to sessions conducted by The David Project and other partners, the day featured several networking sessions where students met with twenty local Israel professionals to explore "next steps" in their Israel journeys and campus engagement strategies.

"There has never been a Israel learning conference with so many students and content as cutting-edge as this," said CJP's Northeastern University Campus Coordinator Nathan Ciccolo. "We had dozens of students drive or take a bus here for two hours on a day off because they heard about what we'd been putting together. It's great to be part of CJP's  new paradigm for inter-campus collaboration and connecting students to Israel."

CJP Launches Jewish Boston Connected, Our Strategic Plan for the Future

Two years and thousands of conversations later, CJP is pleased to share our new plan and our three strategic priorities.

In a world of unlimited choices, our top priority is to make Jewish life compelling for the next generation – to encourage Jews of all backgrounds to make Jewish choices for themselves and for their children.

We also commit to two additional priorities: forging new connections with Israel and to deepening networks of caring and social justice.
