Innovation Grants

Grants of up to $5,000 are now available for programs that either:

  • Engage Families with Young Children in Jewish Life.
  • and/or
  • Welcome and Engage a Diverse and Inclusive Jewish Community.

Funding Criteria

    We support programs and organizations that:
  • Answer unmet needs and underserved populations
  • Are open to the broad community
  • Make efficient use of existing resources
  • Have the potential to expand

2011-2012 Innovation Grant Recipients Round 1

Boston Jewish Music Festival
Program will offer four musical “Tot Shabbat” programs at synagogues.

MetroNorth Synagogue Collaboration
Family chorus open to all families with children, ages 4-8.

The Vilna Shul, Boston
Monthly series of fun Shabbat services for families with young children.

Temple Beth Elohim, Wellesley
Friday evening Shabbat programming for families with young children.

Temple Israel, Boston
Will offer Shabbat singing for young families.

Temple Beth Emunah, Brockton
Will offer “Tot Shabbat” programming.

Boston Jewish Music Festival
Will offer Purim concerts.

Moving Traditions
Will offer leadership training for girls in grades 6-12.

Keshet
Will offer parent connection for parents of LGBT children.

Boston-Area Jewish Education Program (BJEP)
Will support book-based learning initiative.

Temple Adath, Sharon
Will offer Yiddish poetry readings.

Congregation Sha'aray Shalom, Hingham
Will offer a series of workshops about food.

Ganei Beantown: Boston-Area Jewish Gardens
Will offer a Boston Jewish Food Conference on Earth Day.
