On Monday evening, May 3, sixty lawyers, accountants and health professionals gathered at CJP for the YLG/YHP Cinco de Mayo Tequila Tasting & Celebration. The evening kicked off with remarks from CJP’s CFO David Strong, who spoke about the overall scope of CJP and provided a high level overview of CJP’s assets, revenue flows and how we are evaluated publicly via Charity Navigator. He was followed by a presentation from JALSA (Jewish Alliance for Law & Social Action), who provided attendees with numerous opportunities to get involved with helping those in need in the community. “Liquid Anthropologist” Brad Jarvis then led the group through a history of tequila making and a tasting of four tequilas, each of which was paired with a course from our Mexican dinner. Following the tasting, attendees were invited to continue the celebration with dessert, Mexican music, margaritas & Mexican beer and a piñata.
