Informal Teen Programs

Looking for fun Jewish programs for your teenager?  Here are a few suggestions:

B’nai B’rith Youth Organization (BBYO)
The New England region of  BBYO youth groups provides outreach workers in the Newton area and expands into the North Boston communities of Malden, Cambridge, and Somerville.

JCC Maccabi Boston

In summer 2004, hundreds of Jewish youth from around the world flocked to Boston for the 2004 Boston Maccabi Games.  Riding on the momentum from hosting the week long festival, the Jewish Community Centers of Greater Boston is developing JCC Maccabi Boston to provide an innovative and unique opportunity for Jewish teenagers throughout our Greater Boston community to explore their Jewish identity and solidify their attachment to Jewish life through their interest in sports and adventure. The JCC is capitalizing on the professional, organizational, and people-to-people networks that made the games such a success to provide a year-round avenue for Jewish connections for our Greater Boston youth. The program includes “outdoor adventure” style events and programs in addition to summer trips, leagues and Maccabi style winter events. To learn more, check out www.maccabiboston.org.

Russian Teen Dialogue Club

Previously KVN, the Russian Teen Dialogue Club has expanded beyond the competitive debate team theater production of KVN, to an expansive and inclusive Russian Jewish teen after school program.  Leventhal-Sidman JCC and Jewish Family and Children’s Service will continue to support Russian-speaking Jewish teens partaking in “building an intellectually challenging and creative community” through enriching social, cultural, Jewish and academic infused programs.

TeenAde

This program, developed by the BJE in collaboration with area synagogues and institutions, is engaged in expanding their special needs services.  TeenAde trains teens in the necessary skills to support and tutor children with special needs currently in community day schools and congregational resource centers.

Telem

Jewish teens in the greater Boston area are coming together to make meaningful community service part of their lives. Be a part of making it happen. Spend a few hours a week to improve someone else's life, have a positive impact in the community, and be part of a millennia-old tradition of tikkun olam—repairing the world.

Telem means "moving together"in Hebrew. It's also an acronym in Hebrew for tenuah tz'i'rim mitnadvim, Movement for Youth Volunteers! Join with a group of your friends and see what a difference you can make! Click here to learn more about Telem.
