Lives changed by emergency education grant
For Jewish families facing dark economic times last year, CJP’s distribution of a $1 million grant from the Jim Joseph Foundation was a ray of hope. This funding was earmarked for needs-based Jewish education grants, and allowed hundreds of children to attend summer camp, stay enrolled in Jewish day schools and grow by leaps and bounds in pre-school.

CJP commits additional Economic Response funding
CJP’s Economic Response Task Force is dispersing a second round of grant funds to partner agencies that continue to see their state funding shrink while demand for their services is spiraling. CJP Economic Response grants help provide counseling, access to public benefits, career and employment services and cash assistance for emergency needs including food, utilities, and medical care. “We have a responsibility in the Jewish community to take care of each other in times of hardship. Members of our community of all ages and backgrounds have been affected by the recession, and CJP is here to help.” Barry Shrage, President, CJP
