Congressman Edward Markey, chair of the House Select Committee on Energy Independence and Global Warming, and other leaders in the clean energy field convened at Harvard Kennedy School in November to examine how international partnerships can help accelerate the development and commercialization of clean technologies.

Congressman Edward Markey spoke to a packed audience about the urgent need to acheive energy independence, and the importance of international partnerships that can accelerate that independence.  He emphasized that the United States must work closely with key allies like Israel that are leading innovators in clean technology.  Reliance on insecure sources of energy, the Congressman warned, "compromises our national security and our economic security."
