BERLIN - A government spokesman says new German Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle will make a two-day trip to Israel next Monday to meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman.

Spokesman Stefan Bredohl said Friday that Westerwelle will also meet with Palestinian leaders in Ramallah.

A week later, on November 30, Chancellor Angela Merkel will meet Netanyahu and members of his Cabinet in Berlin. It will be the second joint session of the German and Israeli governments.

Merkel and members of her Cabinet traveled to Jerusalem in March 2008 for the first such meeting.
