Join us for networking, breakfast and to hear from Rabbi Yosef Mendelevich. In his new biography, Unbroken Spirit, this Latvian native tells the story of his resistance against Soviet tyranny. In 1970, he was involved in planning a potential hijacking, an act designed to raise awareness about the desperate plight of Soviet Jews. Come hear the fascinating story of his arrest, imprisonment and of his daily struggle to retain his Jewish identity and his humanity.

Rabbi Yosef Mendelevich was born in Riga, Latvia in 1947, and served 12 years in the Soviet gulag for his Jewish activism. Since his release in 1981, he has lived in Israel, where he received his rabbinic ordination and a master's degree in Jewish history. He teaches at Jerusalem's Machon Meir Yeshiva.
