Pathways provides Jewish learning opportunities for adults in their 20’s and 30’s in the Greater Boston area. All learning levels and backgrounds are welcome!
Join Pathways to explore life through Jewish study. Our events provide a creative forum for young adults (men and women ages 22-40) to study. The goal of Pathways is to bring Jewish learning alive by examining how it applies to our own lives while studying within a community of young adults. At its core, Judaism welcomes questioning and challenging.
Previous knowledge of text is not required, just an interest in learning something new, relevant, and inspiring. Please contact Becky at Beckyk@cjp.org or at 617-457-8598 to learn more about Pathways.

Past Events:
Pathways had a busy spring, sponsoring 3 engaging events during April and early May.
On April 22, Pathways sponsored a program at the Boston Public Library entitled Origins, Experience and Culture: Our Multifaceted Jewish Diaspora which examined Jewish identity. Participants explored what defines us as Jews, and discussed how Jewish cultures around the world can be so diverse and still be part of our larger Jewish tradition. The evening featured a panel of 3 individuals who shared their experiences as Spanish, Indian, and Egyptian Jews, as well as an academic expert on Diaspora communities. Participants also engaged in a lively text study concerning a brief moment of unified peoplehood at Mt. Sinai.
On May 3, a busload of young adults traveled throughout Chelsea led by expert local historian, Ellen Smith, as they learned about Chelsea's robust historical Jewish roots and met members of the small Jewish community who live there today. Many from the group had Chelsea ties and enjoyed learning about their family heritage.
On May 5, the Pathways community was treated to Food for Thought, a dinner and facilitated discussion in preparation for the lecture by master teacher Avivah Zornberg. The group delved into biblical passages that provided a context for the community forum that followed.
