CJP teaching technology fellowship

CJP’s Teaching & Technology Fellowship

We are very excited to announce the launch of CJP’s Teaching & Technology Fellowship.

This fellowship is an opportunity for supplementary school teachers to experiment with new technologies and integrate Web 2.0 into their classrooms. The Fellowship includes:

  • seminars on educational technology
  • workshops on curriculum design
  • five free netbooks to be used in the classroom of each fellow
  • a free netbook for personal use by each fellow
  • $1,000 stipend to each participant who successfully completes the Fellowship and integrates new technology into their classrooms

Goals of the Teaching & Technology Fellowship
Our goal is to help supplementary school teachers re-envision their roles (inside the classroom, and beyond) and offer the training they need to effectively deliver content, interact with children and their families and shape a positive experience for learners.

Collaboration, and commitment from synagogue leaders is key
Like the technologies we will explore, this Fellowship provides unique opportunities for collaboration. This Fellowship is based partnerships between the supplementary school community and CJP, among Fellows, and between the Fellows and technology lay leaders from their schools. Space is limited and we expect the application process to be competitive.

CJP’s fresh approach to Jewish supplementary education
This fellowship is one of many initiatives CJP is developing to support excellence in supplementary education in Greater Boston, and focuses on creating innovative models, supporting teaching excellence, investing in leadership and integrating technology. We are confident that the experimentation and creative ideas that emerge will lead to significant and positive change in how students learn at congregational and community schools.

We intend to apply what we learn from this inaugural year of the Fellowship expand this Fellowship over the next five years, with a goal of eventually reaching more than 100 teachers throughout Greater Boston.
