Temple Aliyah is an egalitarian Conservative synagogue located in Needham, MA. We seek a professional who will focus on expanding our engagement and programming. We are currently searching for a part time Coordinator of Community Engagement/Programming. This position is 10-15 hours per week.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Develop, plan and oversee high quality, creative programming across our membership. Programs will be designed to actively engage children, teens and adults. Programming will encompass Shabbat, holidays and the High Holy Days ,as well as other potential opportunities for community building While most programs will be held at Temple Aliyah they can also take place at other relevant locations (farms, nature destinations, community service destinations) as is appropriate when collaborating with particular committees
• Contract with professionals in various specialties (e.g. performing artists or environmental educators), as required to mount programs of interest to community members
• Work with the Executive Director and VP of Communications to conduct targeted outreach to the community and create engaging publicity materials.
QUALIFICATIONS
• MA in Jewish Education/related field or substantial professional experience within synagogue life.
• Must be a dynamic and motivating leader with strong planning and creative skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to foresee and correct problems before they happen
• Must have a high degree of schedule flexibility, particularly around Shabbat and the Jewish holidays.
• Strong communication, social media, and interpersonal skills are required to interact with people of all ages.
• Ability to multi-task combined with excellent organizational ability to successfully handle multiple programs and engagement opportunities simultaneously.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree Required and 0-2 years of experience.
