Temple Isaiah, a thriving Reform Jewish congregation in Lexington, Massachusetts, is seeking a full-time, highly relational, Marketing and Communications Manager. Position Overview
The Marketing and Communications Manager develops and oversees marketing and communication strategies that enhance brand awareness, foster connections, and achieve organizational goals. This role combines content creation, digital marketing, and campaign management expertise to effectively engage the Isaiah community. Proficiency with database systems and Constant Contact is essential. Most importantly, the ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to customer service, including a problem-solving mindset, the ability to stay calm under pressure, and a talent for fostering understanding and collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
The Marketing and Communications Manager is responsible for managing marketing efforts for the congregation at large including email messages, print newsletter, website content, social media strategy, branding, and graphic design projects. The manager will create and manage a temple-wide communications strategy that ensures regular communications with the full congregational membership and sub-groups around worship, holidays, programs, values, and learning opportunities. The individual will ensure clear, consistent messaging that builds a sense of pride, belonging and participation in specific programs and worship activities.
Marketing Strategy
Develop and execute comprehensive marketing strategies to support organizational objectives.
In partnership with colleagues and lay leaders, identify key segments of our population, and create tailored campaigns to enhance engagement.
Analyze congregant data to inform and refine strategy.
Content Development
Create and manage content across multiple channels, including social media, email, print and website.
Develop marketing collateral such as brochures, signage, and presentations.
Oversee the creation of multimedia content, including videos, graphics, and photography.
Digital Marketing
Plan and execute email marketing and social media.
Monitor website performance and optimize user engagement and lead generation.
Data Analysis and Reporting
Track, analyze and report on campaign outcomes, insights, and recommendations.
Use data to refine communication strategies and achieve measurable results.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, or a related field.
3-5 years of experience in marketing or communications, preferably as a sole contributor or on a small team.
Proficiency with marketing tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Constant Contact, Adobe Creative Suite, CRM platforms) and digital marketing strategies.
Ability to thrive in a professional, fast-paced, and team-oriented work environment while also working independently.
Strong collaborator with a positive and supportive team-player approach, coupled with an ownership mentality.
Creative thinker with a curiosity-driven approach to problem-solving.
Interest in and ability to work in a house of worship and with passionate and engaged membership, lay leaders, and clergy.
Jewish communal experience preferred.
