Brandeis University is delighted to announce a career opportunity as a Part-time Academic Administrator, Graduate Guidance. This position is responsible for student advising and fieldwork supervision for the Hornstein program both in-person and online. This position also entails monitoring student academic progress, meeting with students to address individual concerns, developing resources for faculty advisors. The person in this role directs graduate studies for the Hornstein Program.
This is gift funded position. It is a three-year term position with a possibility of extension. This is a part-time position working 17.5 hours a week and is eligible for benefits.
Job Description
Curriculum and student advising: create curriculum plans; support student course planning; manage academic challenges; and provide job seeking support. Support Hornstein Community Time committees. (40%)
Manage the Program’s fieldwork component: develop external contacts for student placements; supervise the field work during the summer; and support the Hornstein final project through identifying and establishing partnerships sites for student groups. (40%)
Program support: Support the development of the new Hornstein mentorship network to pair current students with alumni and professionals in the field. Develop an orientation/training program and schedule. (20%)
Requirements
B.A./B.S./required (M.A./M.S. preferred)
2-4 years minimum work experience.
Impeccable interpersonal skills with a collaborative work style to create strong working relationships with students in the Program, departments and offices across Brandeis, nonprofit organizations external to the university.
Experience working in the Jewish sector, specifically knowledge of networks across the Jewish community, including nonprofits, synagogues and camps is strongly preferred
