Part-Time Development Coordinator

Position Overview:
The Development Coordinator will support fundraising activities on several levels, including gift reporting, donor acknowledgement, data collection, and special events. Under the guidance and supervision of the Director of Annual Giving, the Development Coordinator will share the vision of the board, and staff, and have a passion for creating a positive and sustainable impact on Jewish life on the Harvard campus to serve and accompany Harvard Hillel at an exciting time of growth and change.

 

Roles and Responsibilities
• Support the Director of Annual Giving and the Board’s Development Committee
• Support fundraising success through maintaining the fundraising management database, stewarding existing donors and funders, and researching individuals and institutional funders. Help track gifts and contacts in Donor Perfect, Harvard Hillel’s fundraising management system.
• Generate and send acknowledgements for pledges, gifts, and payments.
• Help coordinate appeals in print, email, web site, and social media.
• Engage the board and staff to personalize letters and make thank you calls.
• Conduct research on all new donors to identify prospective mid-range and major donors as well as corporations and private foundations.
• Report on fundraising progress and campaign achievements.
• Prepare reports related to donor analytics to better inform fundraising projections as well as strategy and tactics.
• Maintain online and hard copy files for annual auditing.
• Assure database integrity.
• Regularly import database updates (students, parents, new alumni, event attendees).
• Maintain donor records, ensuring accuracy, security, and confidentiality.

In addition to the primary responsibilities outlined above, the Development Coordinator may be assigned other responsibilities from time to time by the Director of Annual Giving.

The ideal candidate is keenly interested in development. They will have a bachelor’s degree and, at least, one to three years of increasing professional achievement and responsibility with one year’s experience in non-profit operations and reporting preferred. They are expert in managing the Microsoft Office Suite of applications and have experience with Donor Perfect or a similar donor database management platform. They will be attentive to detail yet can see the big picture. They possess strong skills in technology and have experience in managing CRMs or fundraising management systems.

This is a part-time, hourly, hybrid position based in Cambridge, MA, offering $37,000 per year based on a 24-hour workweek. This position does not include benefits.
