JEMS is offering a free day of security training with special consideration for the challenges faced by small synagogues, havurahs, and Chabad organizations. We invite rabbis, staff, and active community members to join us for morning and afternoon sessions at the CJP Offices.
During the morning session we will focus on an overview of threats and offer a review of local security incidents. Participants will also be exposed to physical and procedural security concepts and learn about the key role individuals can play to improve — or degrade — security at their institution.
In the afternoon, participants will have the opportunity to complete Alert, Lockdown, Inform, Counter, Evacuate (ALICE) or Run, Hide, Fight training. This program provides options-based training so that individuals can more effectively respond to the threat of a malicious intruder or active assailant. The session includes both lecture and hands-on activities and drills.
Breakfast and lunch will be provided. Dietary laws will be observed.
