CJP and Jacqueline Adelson, Jill Karp, and Robin Wolk invite you to a special CJP Poverty Simulation.

Based on an acclaimed model, the simulation provides an interactive way to experience the everyday challenges faced by families in financial distress. We hope you'll join us as we come together to learn more about CJP's Anti-Poverty Initiative.

Through the Anti-Poverty Initiative, we have learned that families and individuals in the Greater Boston Jewish community who seek help often live at or below the federal poverty level — with an average income of just $15,000 a year.

About the poverty simulation
While the poverty simulation cannot fully capture the reality of living on a low income, it is a powerful introduction to the barriers many families face. Each participant will assume the role of a person from one of 20 different families facing financial distress. Members of each family will work together to reach stability.

Afterward, we'll debrief with Sarah Abramson and Amanda Badolato, two CJP professionals with expertise in poverty-related issues, to learn more about how we're working with our partner agencies to combat poverty inour community. Together with the thoughtful and compassionate women of Metrowest and beyond, we'll discuss these challenges and work toward solutions.
