Dr. Nathan Birnbaum is a highly-regarded prosthodontist, having taught at Boston University, Harvard and Tufts Dental Schools, and recently concluding a 40-year teaching career volunteering as Associate Clinical Professor of Prosthodontics and Operative Dentistry at Tufts. He is a dental consultant to Good Housekeeping and has served on the editorial team of the Esthetic Dentistry Research Group in Houston, publishers of REALITY: The Informational Source for Dental Products, for the past 24 years.
Dr. Birnbaum has presented more than a hundred courses and lectures, and has published numerous articles on techniques, products and technology in dentistry. He has been awarded fellowships in the International College of Dentists, the American College of Dentists and OKU Honorary Dental Fraternity, and he belongs to many dental and prosthodontic organizations, including as a diplomat of the American Academy of Pain Management. As a proud member of the Alpha Omega International Dental Fraternity, he has served as international marshal, as treasurer of the Alpha Omega Foundation and as chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Boston Alumni Chapter since 1986.
Dr. Birnbaum has long been active in the Jewish community. He developed and implemented the programs Dental Aid for Russian Émigrés and Dental Assistance for Survivors of the Holocaust, and formerly was the chair of the State of Israel Bonds of Greater Boston and CJP’s Health Professions Network.
Nathan is in his 43rd year of private dental practice in Wellesley, proudly practicing with his daughter, Dr. Heidi Aaronson. In addition to Heidi, Nate and his wife Robin are the proud parents of Danny and Erica, and have four granddaughters.
