BRCA is a gene found in all humans that helps cells grow and repairs errors in the DNA. Those with a BRCA mutation are at an increased risk of breast, ovarian, prostate, and other cancers — and people of Ashkenazi Jewish ancestry are 10 times more likely to carry a BRCA mutation as the general population.

The BRCA Founder Outreach Study (BFOR) is offering BRCA gene testing at no cost to individuals age 25 or older, who have at least one Ashkenazi Jewish grandparent, and live in the Boston, New York, Los Angeles, or Philadelphia metropolitan areas.

CJP is partnering with BFOR to help promote this free genetic testing in the Greater Boston Jewish community. BFOR is looking to complete enrollment for the study by Sunday, March 15!
