In the Community — July 2019

Looking for some hands-on volunteer opportunities this summer and beyond? Some of our CJP partner agencies need volunteers to help run programs, serve clients, and more. Take a look and see if there’s a way to give back that could be for a match for you!

Jewish Family & Children’s Service (JF&CS) has volunteer opportunities in August and September in several of its programs, including Family Table (food support for those in need), Memory Cafe (support for people with forgetfulness/other changes in thinking), and Café Hakalah (monthly event for Holocaust survivors). Learn how to get involved and complete an online JF&CS volunteer application.

Jewish Family Service (JFS) of Metrowest is hosting Build-a-Backpack events at the Framingham Public Library on Monday, August 26, and at the Wellesley Public Library on Tuesday, August 27. Volunteers are asked to bring new backpacks which will be stuffed with school supplies for local families in need. Families with young children are encouraged to participate. Learn more and register.

2Life Communities has ongoing volunteer opportunities, ranging from front desk greeter to friendly visitor to tech support specialist and more. There are also opportunities to assist with special events at their affordable housing campuses for older adults, such as holiday celebrations and dance parties. Learn how you can help.
