In the Community — October 2019

Today, there are more 65 million refugees worldwide, more than any other time in world history.

Here in Greater Boston, CJP is taking action to support refugees in our neighborhoods. Through strategic investments and the ability to convene partners, CJP is proud to join forces with Jewish Vocational Services (JVS) on Together We Rise, a three-year project to help resettled refugees as they move from entry-level jobs to family-sustaining careers.

Through the project — which is supported by CJP as part of our Social Justice (Tzedek) Initiative — JVS is working with 1,000 refugees to identify career goals and take crucial steps forward, including enrolling in training programs, accessing higher education, and finding employment in their fields.

This work is just one example of how CJP inspires and mobilizes the Jewish community and effects systemic change. Learn more about Together We Rise, CJP's role in the community, and how you can get involved.
