The Early Learning Center is operated by Congregation Beth Elohim, an egalitarian and inclusive community synagogue. Located in Acton MA in a lovely setting, this year-round program currently serves a population of families having both Jewish and non-Jewish religious, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds. Our preschool welcomes children aged 15 months through age five into our four classrooms, each full of natural light and supplied with a rich array of materials. We have an outstanding staff of 14 dedicated teachers representing over 100 years of combined early childhood education experience. The program’s play-based curriculum provides children with engaging experiences that respect both Judaic values and the diverse cultures that make up our student body. We are seeking an experienced early childhood professional who will work collaboratively with the Congregation’s professional staff (Rabbi, Cantor, Religious School Director, and Administrator), volunteer leadership (Board of Directors, Preschool Advisory Council), and teaching staff. Major areas of responsibility and typical activities within each area will include:
> Preschool management and operations.
>> Maintain strong relationships with families.
>> Be actively involved in each classroom.
>> Oversee daily operations and assure that all policies and licensing regulations are followed.
>> Grow enrollment and actively take part in marketing the program.
>> Manage and monitor budget.
> Preschool faculty management and leadership.
>> Provide vision, leadership, mentoring and supervision to staff.
>> Oversee staff professional development and program curriculum.
> Cross-community coordination.
>> Collaborate with Congregation professional and lay leadership to create preschool programming
that reflects the Congregation’s themes and principles based on enduring Jewish values
>> Coordinate preschool activities with broader programs involving the Religious School and other
Congregation activities intended for families with young children.
>> Work within the Congregational structure and maintain ties to the outside community.

> B.A./B.S. or M.A. in Early Childhood Education or related field (Master’s preferred).
> EEC Director 2 certification preferred.
> Experience as a director of an early education program.
> Background in Jewish early childhood education or a willingness to learn.
