Director of Development and Community Engagment

Epstein Hillel School Six, Community Road, Marblehead MA

Epstein Hillel School is a vibrant and progressive K-8 community Jewish day school located in Marblehead, Massachusetts. The Director of Development and Community Engagement reports to the Head of School and is a strategic member of the school’s leadership team. This position is responsible for envisioning and implementing the school’s fundraising efforts.

Strategize, track, and participate in donor cultivation and face to face solicitation

Design, implement and manage all fundraising activities, including the annual giving
campaign, and annual Gala

Oversee database management for record-keeping of gifts, including gift processing,
pledge reminders, and acknowledgment programs

Grow alumni outreach by organizing events, collecting news and information about
alumni members and the entire school community, and releasing the monthly alumni newsletter (currently called Mifgashim)

Participate in and report at EHS Board of Directors meetings

Staff a variety of working committees, such as Development, Gala, and Alumni Engagement

Manage grants process, including researching and drafting grant proposals

Establish and foster collaborative relationships and partnerships with other agencies and synagogues as a representative of EHS and its mission

Attend all required faculty/staff meetings and other school sponsored events and

Support and represent the mission, philosophy, and core values of EHS internally and in
the wider community

Bachelor’s degree or an advanced degree and at least five years similar experience

Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships and work
collaboratively as part of a team

Strong organization skills and attention to detail

High degree of integrity and confidentiality and dedication to the mission of Epstein Hillel School

Demonstrated success in project management

Strong self-motivation skills

Excellent verbal and written skills and a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively
and relate to parents, students, alumni, staff, faculty, board members and community

Proficiency with development software. EHS is moving to the Veracross system
beginning in July 2022

Fluency with Office software

Flexibility and ability to manage evening and weekend work as needed

Experience is a school setting
