Administrative Position: Office Manager

Temple Israel of Natick is a vibrant, 350+ member congregation in MetroWest Boston. We seek a welcoming, detail-oriented Office Manager to be a key player on our office team to support the general operations of the synagogue. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively and will be front-facing, working directly with members in person, by phone or email. Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills are essential. Proficiency in technology and social media skills is required.

Responsibilities:

● Interact and coordinate with temple members and prospective member in-person, by phone and/or by email
● Coordinate and implement intra-office communication with clergy and directors
● Support clergy and lay leadership communication with congregants
● Create, format, and check for accuracy weekly, ongoing, and special congregational communication (e.g. Shabbat flyer, Constant Contact)
● Prepare bulk mailings
● Organize and coordinate office administration and procedures in conjunction with Temple Administrator to ensure organizational effectiveness, efficiency and safety
● Streamline and implement administrative procedures for ritual-related operations and tasks (e.g. Yahrzeits, life cycle events)
● Maintain and ensure accurate records in all synagogue databases including membership, yahrzeits, anniversaries, etc.
● Maintain database of program registrations and collection of fees
● Collaborate with bookkeeper to prepare deposits
● Maintain office inventory control
● Maintain Temple’s online calendar
● Assist with Temple’s online social media presence

Qualifications & Skills:

● Minimum 3 years experience in busy office or non-profit environment
● Excellent writing and interpersonal communication
● Empathetic and compassionate
● Ability to use discretion in dealing with both internal and external contacts and highly sensitive information
● Strong attention to details
● Organized and self motivated
● Good problem solving skills
● Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, Excel), Google Calendar, Microsoft Publisher, Zoom
● Experience with database software (e.g., ShulCloud) and WordPress (Website) helpful
● Tech/social media skills, can learn new systems and online platforms
● Experience with non-profit or synagogue preferred

● Monday-Thursday 8:30 am - 5:00 pm
