Song Leaders lead shira (music) sessions including fun with Jewish and traditional camp and folk music, instruction in Hebrew prayers and songs including before and meal prayers. The Song Leaders collaborate with Head of Shira during song sessions on Shabbat including preparation of music for Shabbat services, and Havdalah. As a member of the Jewish culture staff, song leaders will collaborate with Heads of Shira, Jewish Life and Learning, and Israeli Dance to help to prepare for the Jewish Arts Festival. These are full time seasonal and residential positions at camp. Cohen Camps are complying with all best practices for COVID19 as recommended by the CDC, state and local government, the American Camp Association, and Association of Independent Jewish Camps for residential camps.

Experience as a song leader preferably at a Jewish residential camp, proven skills in singing and teaching music, including ability to play the guitar and/or keyboard. Bachelors and/or coursework in education, music education, Jewish studies; must be able to lead songs in Hebrew

Under the direction of each Camps’ Director, or Program Director, pre-camp work and/or meetings may be required.
