Building stronger organizations for our community

CJP is offering a Capacity Building Rolling Grant Pool. Capacity building helps organizations and professionals become stronger, more adaptive, and better equipped to meet evolving community needs. This support also creates conditions for greater coordination, learning, and resilience across the ecosystem.

CJP’s one-time capacity building grants will support activities such as:

• Strategic planning
• Operations improvements
• Measurement and evaluation
• Talent and leadership development
• And more

Ineligible activities: Salaries, capital projects, ongoing programs, or unrestricted support. Within the data-capacity track, strategic planning and standalone software licenses or fees are excluded unless specifically approved as part of broader capacity-building work.

Grant requirements and eligibility

  • Organization limit: One application per organization per year, up to $18,000.
  • Availability: Requests accepted on a rolling basis while funds remain available.
  • Decision notification. CJP reviews the grant application and communicates the decision to the applicant.
  • Eligibility: Jewish organizations (registered 501(c)(3)) doing work in CJP’s catchment area that have an existing relationship with CJP and are seeking a one-time capacity-building investment.

Grant process

  • Submit an intake form. The organization provides its name, primary contact, brief statement of need and goals, and amount requested.
  • Determine eligibility. Staff assess eligibility and alignment. Eligible organizations are invited to submit a full application.
  • Submit application. The application requests information such as the proposed work, expected results, lasting capacity, timeline, budget, organizational readiness, and broader community value.
  • Decision notification. CJP reviews the grant application and communicates the decision to the applicant.
