What is the Pomegranate Society?
The Pomegranate Society brings together women across Greater Boston. Members are generous leaders who believe that seeds of change can be planted through collective giving.
Why is it called the Pomegranate Society?
The pomegranate, one of the seven fruits named in the Bible, has long symbolized the richness of Jewish life. Its many seeds reflect the 613 mitzvot, reminding us that every action matters. Pomegranates are a symbol of Jewish women’s philanthropy and a shared commitment to tzedek (justice) and gemilut hesed (acts of loving kindness).
How to join the Pomegranate Society
Any woman who gives $1,800–$4,999 to CJP’s Annual Campaign can join the society. You can make a donation outright or join the Path to Pom. Path to Pom offers donors a progressive step-up opportunity to reach the Pomegranate level over two to three years, with access to Pomegranate Society programming starting in year one.
Friends of Pom recognizes women who give $500–$1,799. As valued members of CJP’s Women’s Philanthropy community, they are encouraged to use this as a pathway to deepen their philanthropic journey.

Women who are not yet at the $5,000 level can join Road to Lion, a two- to three-year commitment to grow their annual gift with intention and support, alongside other women on the same path. It’s about building your capacity to lead and discovering the impact you can make when you do.
