The CJP Boston-Israel Fund partners with Israel-based organizations and leaders to drive transformational change and build a stronger future, together.
Jewish Boston and Israeli partners are working together to make transformational change in Israel. We are connecting Israel's changemakers and best talent to solve the country's foundational challenges and bring the two communities closer together.
CJP is investing in bold Israeli initiatives to build a stronger, more resilient future by tackling critical challenges, supporting innovative leaders, and growing transformational ideas. We are currently offering three grant opportunities for Israel-based initiatives.
Seed grants support early-stage ideas with the potential to create meaningful change by helping innovative solutions get off the ground.
Scale grants invest in proven initiatives ready for expansion, helping effective models reach more communities and deepen their impact.
Platform grants invest in trusted partners who have proven the ability to address systemic problems at scale.
Investing in public-private partnerships and community-driven initiatives to accelerate recovery and long-term prosperity.
Supporting long-term recovery and renewal for war-impacted communities in Israel.
Advancing initiatives that foster equity, adaptability, and shared progress to create a more cohesive society.
Investing in current and emerging leaders across sectors to strengthen Israeli leadership.
Supporting vulnerable populations, building trust, and stepping in where other systems fail.
Empowering talent, technology, and collaboration to strengthen Israeli organizations.
Beyond the Fund’s dollars, we are designing an intentional approach for leveraging our network, connections, and knowledge to the benefit of organizations that we support and to create engagement opportunities for Jewish Boston and Israeli partners.
This includes helping grantees access strategic support and visibility, creating opportunities for shared learning, and surfacing promising opportunities through on-the-ground presence and trusted partnerships.
If your organization is based in Israel or primarily operates in Israel, we welcome opportunities to learn about work that aligns with CJP’s strategic priorities and supports thriving communities in Israel. We are particularly interested in organizations whose work advances one or more of the strategic pillars outlined above.
Grant inquiries are accepted on a rolling basis throughout the fiscal year, and funding decisions are made regularly.

“I wanted to say thank you to CJP for sponsoring a bomb shelter in the park near me. This morning, a siren went off and everyone in the park at the time, dogs included, used the shelter. Thank you for keeping us caring and safe!!”

The Israel Emergency Fund (IEF) launched within 24 hours of the October 7, 2023, attacks. CJP’s rapid response showed what Jewish community can do: mobilize immediately, give strategically, and deliver help in real time.
CJP's Israel emergency response met this pivotal moment in Israel with precision. We support organizations with the vision to lead and the tools to deliver, channeling support where it will drive the most meaningful change.
“We just have faith that we’re going to move forward. CJP saw this genuine need for the communities, for the country, and they stepped up in a most unbelievable way.”

The Boston-Haifa Connection is built on a simple, powerful truth: real connection comes from facing challenges together and building relationships that last.
Three decades in, the Boston-Haifa Connection is thriving: supporting at-risk families, nurturing Jewish identity in both cities, bridging youth across continents, and raising up the next generation of leaders.

CJP's Israel Fund supports grants across six strategic focus areas that strengthen Israeli society, address urgent and emerging needs, and help build long-term resilience. Each grant is evaluated based on its potential impact and alignment with CJP's funding priorities.
When a crisis occurs in Israel, CJP works closely with trusted partners on the ground to assess immediate needs and mobilize emergency funding. Through established relationships and proven response systems, CJP can often deploy emergency resources within 24–48 hours, helping provide critical support to affected communities when it is needed most.
CJP's Israel Fund grantmaking is overseen by CJP’s Israel Director in partnership with the Israel Advisory Group, a volunteer committee that reviews grant recommendations and provides strategic oversight. The Board of Directors maintains overall oversight of the Israel Fund's grantmaking, receiving regular updates from the Israel Advisory Group. This structure helps ensure a thoughtful, transparent, and accountable grantmaking process.
